Welcome CBESS families to the 2022-2023 school year

August 31st, 2022

Dear CBESS families,

I hope you all had a fantastic summer, and on behalf of our whole team, I am so happy to welcome you all to a new school year!

We are looking forward to meeting our new and returning students on Tuesday September 6, 2022 for a half day, with a 11:30 am dismissal and busses running at 11:45 am.

I know you are all curious about class configurations of our multi-age groups, and your children are excited to meet their new teachers. For the first week, our Elementary Team will receive the students in smaller learning groups to help build connection with both students and adults, and to support transitioning back into school routines and structures. Grade 4-5-6 students will meet in Ms. Drapers room, grade 2-3 will check in at Ms. Strom’s room, and K-1 will meet in the kindergarten classroom. We will finalize the configurations after the first week of school when we know our actual enrollment. All schools are going through this phase at this time, and I want to thank you all for your patience as we move through this tricky part of school start up.

This year’s Elementary School Team is:

Lara Draper—Upper Elementary
Shannon Lanaway—French, Art, Social Studies
Alana Strom—Educational Assistant
Johanna Strom—Primary, Library
Inclusion Support Teacher—Daniela Fiess on leave until Sarah Wick’s return (new teacher to be announced soon, stay tuned)

This year’s Middle, and High School Team is:

Cathy Fowler—Educational Assistant
Shannon Lanaway-- Science, French, Electives
Kristy Winger--English, Humanities, Careers
Matt Winger—Math, Science, Psychology, Socials, ADST, Electives
Daniela Fiess/Sarah Wick—Drama

Please find the Middle and High School schedule attached. This is a draft and minor adjustments after the first week may still happen.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have. I wish you all a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful part of the world!

Sincerely,

Daniela Fiess
