Celebrating Fall
September and October have been packed with fun, learning, and a strong sense of community spirit.
Cops for Kids and Terry Fox Run
We were happy to welcome the Cops for Kids riders on their annual tour. Their stories of teamwork and giving back resonated with our students and reminded us what community support looks like in action.
Our Terry Fox Run was another highlight. Students ran with determination and heart, raising more than three times our fundraising goal. The event ended in true Crawford Bay style—with a hilarious, fully reusable water balloon celebration. But why do the teachers always end up soaked while the students stay dry?
Third Annual Fall Faire
The 3rd Annual Fall Faire brought families together for an afternoon that captured everything we love about our school community. There were more student-led and designed games than anyone could play, friendly farm animals (including tiny goats and one very large sheep), crafts, face painting, and a free dinner for everyone who came. The sense of connection and support from the community made all the difference.
Open Stage and Birthday Grandma
We also held our first Open Stage of the year, organized by Ms. Schalm, where students performed a range of terrific and challenging numbers tied together by a fun “throwback” theme. The creativity and confidence on display were inspiring.
Our Birthday Grandma continues her monthly visits, bringing sorbet or ice cream and good jokes to celebrate every student and staff birthday. It’s a sweet tradition that perfectly captures the heart of our school—kindness, connection, and care for one another.
Remembrance Day to Be Marked Nov 10
Looking ahead, we’re preparing for our Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 10 at 10:45 a.m., and our Winter Concert on December 18 at 2:30 p.m. None of this would happen without countless staff and parent volunteer hours - the heart that makes our school hum.
We are looking forward to celebrating and sharing with our community in many ways this year.
Note: Payment for hot lunches is directly to the Crawford Bay PAC via etransfer (cbess.hotlunch@gmail.com ) or cash/cheque at the school office. Do not pay through this payment form.
