SD8 students, staff and school communities join together to celebrate Black Excellence Day. Activities take place in schools to mark this day and Black History Month throughout February, 2025.

Black Excellence Day was initiated by the Ninandotoo Society, who describe it as a lead up to Black History Month and "a day to rejoice in Black history and learn about Black stories, Black art and Black people, and a day to stand in solidarity with Black Canadians."
